Act 629 - Summary Reports on Institutional Effectiveness
Fiscal Year 1999 - 2000

College of Liberal Arts

Theatre

All theatre programs were evaluated as a part of the reaccreditation process by the National Association of Scools of Theatre (NAST) in 1996. All programs were reaccredited.

On the B.A. level NAST found that students (majors) should be guided more specifically in selecting the twelve elective credits with regard to stated standards. There was no major complaint about the M.A. program. On the MFA level a cutter/draper staff position needs to be added in order to enhance the costume design emphasis of the program.

The faculty revised the undergraduate curriculum in response to the NAST report. Students are now required to select froma menu of courses which are all in support of clear and stated standards. The Department continues to seek resources to add a cutter/draper to enhance the costume design program.
