Family Weekend Registration

Family Weekend 2023 will be here before you can say, "Go Gamecocks!" Spend an unforgettable weekend with your Carolina family, Sept. 22-23, and enjoy fellowship, football and so much more!

Family Weekend is the perfect way to get to know the Carolina community better. While you're in town, spend time learning all our thriving hometown — Columbia, South Carolina — has to offer, visit our historic campus and meet fellow family members and students.

Traditionally, this event includes educational sessions and receptions hosted primarily throughout Friday, our Rock the Roost event hosted at our Wellness and Fitness Center, and a spectacular football tailgate prior to watching the Gamecocks play. Stay tuned for details for the 2023 event.

Begin Planning Now

While we are still working on our 2023 plans, browse the full schedule from 2022. Please note that there are lots of events on this schedule that do not require the Family Weekend wristband.

Our three signature events do require registration. These events help make your Family Weekend complete! We encourage you to check out the pictures on our Parent and Family Facebook page to get a glimpse of what fun you can experience.

  • President Meet and Greet – Friday afternoon
  • Rock the Roost – Friday evening
  • Family Tailgate Party – Saturday (2.5 hours prior to kick-off)

In addition to the three signature events, families will have the opportunity to add on a ticket for the South Carolina vs. Mississippi State football game during registration.

What to do now before registration opens?

Many sessions and events occur during the day on Friday. Please keep that in mind when planning for your trip as you may consider getting into town the evening of September 21.

Please note that the Family Weekend tailgate held on that Saturday prior to the football game concludes events hosted by Parent and Family Programs. However, colleges, departments, and athletics may host events on that Sunday.
