During your last semester, you'll complete a full-time, 600-hour internship in a state agency, community program or private organization. You can also arrange for an out-of-state internship. In special cases, you can complete a part-time internship over the course of two semester. During your internship, you'll develop and enhance your skills within the context of a real practice setting, which will help ensure you'll be able to fulfill your professional duties after graduation.
Student Involvement
Students may individualize their professional preparation by electing to participate in a wide range of counseling and rehabilitation activities that occur in the Counseling and Rehabilitation and Assessment Center or by working with faculty members on rehabilitation research projects. We also encourage all students to become involved in professional counseling organizations such as the American Counseling Association and the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association
