Section 59-104-650 (B)(1) of Act 629, signed into law in June 1988, states that "each
institution of higher learning is responsible for maintaining a system to measure
institutional effectiveness in accord with provisions, procedures, and requirements
developed by the Commission on Higher Education." All institutions must submit an annual
report on the assessment of institutional effectiveness to the South Carolina Commission on
Higher Education prior to August 1 of each year.
